Tronclub.com is a very fun way to learn electronics. You can order them online and they have very descriptive directions on how to make the project. If you want them to, they can send 1 to you once a month.
There was one electronic kit that I liked the most. It was a really hard one but eventually I finished it. The reason I liked it so much was because if you put a magnet close to it when you finished, there was a high pitched noise and an LED turned on.
P.S. An LED is a type of light and it stands for Light Emitting Diode.
