VIM is Super Powerful… and efficient…
VIM which stands for “Visual Instrument Improved”, is one of many visual editors available to program within. What’s nice about it, is that you can get it running on just about any computer on the planet, and if you’re proficient with it, you can be up and running on those systems in no time.
It also can be a little confusing to get started with. I remember being very slow and confused when just getting started. There are TONS of resources though that should speed you along. Here are a few I found easily…
A Tutorial… http://www.openvim.com/
Found a neat tutorial site for VIM: http://www.openvim.com/
Its interactive, well done, and a stimulating way to learn about how to get around the “Visual Instrument”.
A Cheat Sheet… https://vim.rtorr.com/
This is really well done.
VIM has been around for a long time though – so there are even mugs you can get, shirts, mousepads, posters… all of them to make it easy for you to quickly find the commands you’re looking for.
There is even a game for learning VIM:
Vim-Adventures.com – a game for VIM Basics
Happy VIM’ing!
